Bratwurst Stew in the Slow Cooker

Ingredients

  • 3 cupsbaby carrots
  • 2 lb (900g)baby potatoes larger ones cut in half
  • ¼ cupsour cream
  • 10 oz (280g) can of condensed onion soup
  • 2 lb (900g) uncooked bratwurst sausage cut into 5 cm (2 inch) pieces

 

  • In a 4 to 5L slow cooker, layer baby potatoes, baby carrots and bratwurst sausage.
  • Sprinkle with generous amount of pepper.
  • Pour in the soup. Cover and cook for 8 to 10 hours over low heat or 4 to 5 hours over high heat see chart below
  • Transfer sausage, carrot and potato using a slotted spoon to a large serving plate.
  • Cover to keep warm. Discard fat from cooking liquid.
  • Serve immediately.
